No feet on the ground

first day as an intern..

So my first day as an intern. With my study i can soon diagnose children. My final task is an internship in a facility for children with autism. Now my own unique personal goal as an intern:

Keeping my feet of the ground as an intern working with autistic children..

Autistic.. Impossible? No way. They are a lot of fun and although they seem very structured and different they still manage to keep my feet off the ground just by being different. I usually don’t play outside in dirty sand, learn everything there is to know about Harry Potter or sing children songs out loud (a lot :D). But for my regular work i do.

Internship… Impossible? I don’t know. It’s different. I don’t really have to play with or teach them anything. I have to observe and diagnose. Although i have worked there for only one day i still wonder; how do you act crazy on the job?

need a new alphabet

Nails in my back making me unbleed while i see my 8 year old self watching and we laugh at each other while we make smiley faces, promise to never text those again because they are way funnier to do for real, while the walls disappear and i just unbleed to death.

Just a feeling of wordlessness.

Not that it can’t be described, but the words are just not good enough today.

But i guess that comes closest to it :P

me: Mom, yesterday evening i fell flat on my stomach. It is that my knees managed to soften the fall for my face or els also that would be bruised. And no, wasn’t drunk. Just tripped, got my feet stuck in some garbage. It’s not only bad for the animals and environment I guess. Also for Denises..

mom: Why are you always falling? When you where a child you also always fell.

me: I don’t always fall!! Just sometimes..

mom: grownups just don’t  fall anymore.

me: Well.. awesome grownups do! So there!

This conversation got me thinking because what my mom said is kind of true. Sober not handicapped grownups who aren’t into stunts just don’t fall any more. Pretty sad actually because why do children fall? Not only because there motor skills aren’t totally okay yet but also because they are care- and reckless. Just no attention for there surrounding. Grownups should also pay a little less attention or worry less about the things around them. Just go flat on your face from time to time. I think if everybody just fell some more the world would be a better place :).

That’s what i should have said to my mom..
